Position Summary:

Potential candidates must be team players and detail oriented with demonstrated deep-reach fork lift experience. Additional requirements include the ability to pass a drug and background screening. Complete credentials include warehouse computer skills and experience with FedEx and/or UPS shipping. Must be a quick learner and able to communicate effectively. The ability to read and understand English is required as is the availability to work overtime when it is scheduled. All work is performed on a shift which is scheduled from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
The Forklift operator will be responsible for:

  • Safely and accurately loading and unloading of product and ensuring that truck tires are chocked
  • Ensuring information is exchanged between dock/office concerning all in and outbound shipments
  • Research, with supervisor, discrepancies between inventory count and shipping documents
  • Adhering to safe forklift operation procedures
  • Ensure in and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Report quality variances to supervisor
  • Pull and prepare product, ensuring exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
  • Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards
  • Efficiently and safely move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift.
  • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports guaranteeing tight inventory control and security
  • Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required
  • Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of the other warehouse positions.
  • Act as back-up at times of absence or vacation.
  • Maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

Education:  Requires a high school diploma or GED.

Experience (Years/Type):  Must have 2 + years of forklift (high-reach, deep-reach, and sit-down) operation experience in a high volume warehouse environment.

The selected candidates will have:
